The Laidlaw Scholars Leadership & Research Programme

Conducting Research

Conduct Research That Matters

The Laidlaw Scholars Programme provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to delve into a topic that ignites their passion. Typically in the first summer of the Programme, you will spend 6 weeks conducting in-depth research with the guidance of an academic supervisor or experienced research team.

Your project will hone your ability to search for the counterfactual, ask bold questions, develop rigorous research methodologies, and uncover insights with the potential to make a real-world impact.

From Research to Real-World Impact

Transform your research into action! The Leadership in Action component, typically completed during your second Laidlaw summer, empowers you to apply your findings to real-world challenges.

Collaborate with communities and organisations, driving tangible change informed by your initial research findings.
